The two dice
Two dice make 36 combinations. Seven is the most common total: it comes up 6 times in 36. Then come 6 and 8 (5 times), 5 and 9 (4 times), 4 and 10 (3 times), 3 and 11 (twice), and 2 and 12 (once each). Every pay in craps follows from these counts.
Pass line and don’t pass
The come-out
The first roll of a round. On 7 or 11 the pass line wins. On 2, 3 or 12 (“craps”) it loses. Any other total, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10, becomes the point.
The point
You roll again until the point comes back, and the pass line wins, or a 7 comes up, and it loses. Other totals don’t matter to it. Once the point is set, the bet stays on the table until it is decided.
Don’t pass
The opposite bet: it wins on 2 or 3 on the come-out, loses on 7 or 11, and 12 is a push. During the point it wins on 7 and loses if the point comes back.
Pass line and don’t pass pay 1 to 1 and are made on the come-out.
Come and don’t come
The same bets, made once a point is set. The next roll is the bet’s own come-out: 7 or 11 wins the come bet, 2, 3 or 12 loses it, and any other total becomes its own point. Don’t come is the opposite, 12 a push.
Odds
Once your pass line, don’t pass, come or don’t come bet has a point, you can put odds behind it: a bet paid at the true odds, with no house edge at all. On the pass and come side, up to 3× on 4 and 10, 4× on 5 and 9, 5× on 6 and 8. On the don’t side, up to 6× the flat bet.
| Point | Pass line and come | Don’t pass and don’t come |
|---|---|---|
| 4 and 10 | 2 to 1 | 1 to 2 |
| 5 and 9 | 3 to 2 | 2 to 3 |
| 6 and 8 | 6 to 5 | 5 to 6 |
You can take odds down whenever you like. Odds on a come bet don’t work on a come-out roll.
Place bets
A place bet on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 wins if that number comes before a 7. It stays up after a win, doesn’t work on a come-out roll, and can be taken down at any time.
| Place | Pays |
|---|---|
| 4 and 10 | 9 to 5 |
| 5 and 9 | 7 to 5 |
| 6 and 8 | 7 to 6 |
The field
A one-roll bet on the totals 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
| Total | Pays |
|---|---|
| 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 | 1 to 1 |
| 2 | 2 to 1 |
| 12 | 2 to 1 |
| 5, 6, 7, 8 | Loses |
Hardways
A hard 4, 6, 8 or 10 wins if the number comes as a pair (two 3s for hard 6) before it comes any other way or a 7 comes up. It stays up after a win and doesn’t work on a come-out roll.
| Bet | Pays |
|---|---|
| Hard 4 (two 2s) | 7 to 1 |
| Hard 6 (two 3s) | 9 to 1 |
| Hard 8 (two 4s) | 9 to 1 |
| Hard 10 (two 5s) | 7 to 1 |
One-roll bets

Limits
Each bet goes from €1 to €500, the field included. Any 7, any craps, 2, 3, 11 and 12 go up to €100. Odds may go over the limit, as far as allowed above. A round lasts as long as there is a bet on the table.
Return to player
The return to player (RTP) is the share of all money bet that comes back to players over the long run, stakes included. The best bets are the pass line and don’t pass, with a house edge of 1.41% and 1.36%, backed with full odds, which have none.
